SANTICHON VILLAGE, MAE HONG SON

A traditional Yunnan Chinese cultural village offering authentic cuisine, clay houses, tea plantations, and mountain scenery

Overview

Santichon Village, also known as the Chinese Yunnan Cultural Village, is located approximately 5 kilometers northwest of Pai in Mae Hong Son Province. Established by descendants of Yunnan Chinese settlers, the village preserves the traditions, architecture, cuisine, and customs of southern China.

Visitors can explore traditional earthen houses, sample authentic Yunnan dishes, enjoy locally grown tea, and learn about the history of the Chinese communities that settled in northern Thailand during the mid-20th century.

Surrounded by rolling hills and scenic countryside, Santichon Village provides a peaceful cultural experience that contrasts with Pai's lively town center while offering excellent opportunities for photography and local food.
