Leave Mae Hong Son town via Highway 108 heading south toward Khun Yuam District.
Continue approximately 60 km until reaching Khun Yuam town.
From Khun Yuam, turn onto the local mountain road toward Doi Mae U Kho and follow signs to Thung Bua Tong Fields.
The final section climbs steep mountain roads with many curves. Drive carefully, especially during the rainy season.
Follow Highway 1095 west from Pai toward Mae Hong Son.
Continue through Pang Mapha and arrive at Mae Hong Son town.
From Mae Hong Son, continue south on Highway 108 toward Khun Yuam.
Follow signs from Khun Yuam to Doi Mae U Kho and the flower fields.
There are two main routes from Chiang Mai.
Route 1: Via Mae Chaem (Scenic Mountain Route)
Travel south from Chiang Mai toward Chom Thong, then continue through Mae Chaem District.
Follow mountain roads toward Khun Yuam District and continue to Doi Mae U Kho.
This route offers spectacular scenery but includes narrow, steep mountain sections.
Route 2: Via Mae Sariang (Main Highway Route)
Take Highway 108 south through Hot, Mae Sariang, and Khun Yuam.
From Khun Yuam, follow local signs to Thung Bua Tong Fields.
Public transport directly to Doi Mae U Kho is limited.
Visitors usually travel by rental car, motorbike, private driver, or join seasonal tours from Mae Hong Son or Chiang Mai.
